Lack of Color’s new collection of felt and suede hats are a practical and stylish mid-winter touch.
Australian hat label Lack of Color has launched its 2016 collection, Remember When. The latest drop is a refined interpretation of headwear from the ’60s and ’70s that avoids the costume-box look.
“It’s all about dialed-back drama,” says Lack of Color co-founder Robert Tilbury. He founded the label with his partner Tess Corvaia in Queensland in 2011.
Four unisex hats make their debut. Each has a nostalgic undertone and take cues from Bridget Bardot and Janis Joplin.
Notable newcomers include The Goldfinger, a modern interpretation of the cowboy hat; it’s fashioned from saddle-brown felt and finished with soft suede rope. Rock‘n’roll glamour is rediscovered with The Eclipse hat, a floppy, dome-shaped style inspired by Joplin.
Completing the collection are reworked versions of the brand’s popular fedora and boater styles. Now with an oval-shaped crown, the modified versions are constructed for comfort, and destined to become wardrobe classics.
Lack of Color’s Remember When is available now.
